I am Dr. Cami Malinski-Gillett LAc., DACM, RM, CYT

I have been practicing acupuncture and Chinese medicine since 2013. I graduated summa cum laude with my doctorate degree in 2020. I am an avid yogi with a teaching certification in the practice, a Reiki Master, a meditation teacher, and a bodyworker in massage, tui na and shiatsu therapy.

I have interests in Jungian/archetypal psychology, neuroscience, nature, poetry, and theology. My work is to artfully combine all this in a unique treatment for each patient.

I specializes in aiding patients not only in physical and emotional pain, but also in reconnecting with their own innate wisdom for healing.

A small-town girl at heart, I grew up in the land of the jolly Green Giant in rural Minnesota. I am a mother who wants my children to be adept decision makers and feel empowered in life. I bring that same philosophy to my medical practice.

This means building your medicine cabinet with a whole bunch of tools for self care, self discovery, and a healthy mind, body, and spirit.

I have a passion to understand both the science and the art of the medicine I practice, and strive to connect to every patient on their level of healing with a teaching method that allows each patient to become health independent; empowered by knowledge of how to listen and give the body and mind what it needs to thrive.

My story

I have become a seeker.

Growing up, I had a lot of internal distress, anxiety, and insomnia. I felt uncomfortable in my own head and body. I also felt like I must be radiating awkward energy and everyone must know! Everything I said, or did, became an object to fixate on because it was always oh so wrong.

In my 20's I started on a path that I never dreamed would become the life I have today. It started because I followed desire.

I dropped out of conventional college and started bodywork school. Getting educated on the body and receiving massage almost daily was literally life changing. My nervous system started to calm down. I learned how to be safe in my body for the first time.

Years later, after finishing a pre-chiropractic program, I sat with my administration and voiced how my fears and anxieties were returning. I left that meeting enrolled in the Acupuncture and Chinese medicine program with a lightness that felt like I had stepped onto the right path.

This style of medicine is poetry and art in both it's philosophy and practice. I feel inspired everyday by patients who find insights, freedom from pain, and leave with smiles on their faces.

I have found a passion of Tao philosophy, yoga, energy and spiritual seeking with my medical practice. I feel that spirituality is a missing link in healthcare. We are not fully mechanical beings. If we were, there would be no surprises in health. We could predict and fix it all. But, we are much more complex. And this journey is one we take together,

And man, what a journey it is!

I still feel stress and fall into cyclic thoughts and anxiety. But now, I have the tools to understand myself better, to enjoy life thoroughly, and to love all aspects of me. I continue to See myself through the lens of love. I seek joy.

That's what alchemy is. Turning the lead of life into gold. And that's what we do together here.

The vision of Wild Roots Awakening is to be a place where patients uncover their own inner wisdom. They become empowered through health independence which allows for a fulfilling, joyful life. We employ empathetic professionals who care about patient experiences and are driven to be leaders in a new healthcare model that includes not only body health but mind and spirit as well.
